Trip to Westport

On the 31st of May 23 we set off on the bus for our overnight trip to Westport .We stopped at Strokestown house for a break and took a quick look around.

After that we visited the Museum of Country Life. We watched a short film about country life in Ireland long ago. We saw how people lived and the clothes they wore. As we explored the museum we had a quiz to do .We had to find all the pictures of the objects on our sheet. This was great fun. Outside we saw the green house and gardens.

Next we went to the Heritage centre and saw some old farming machinery. As it was such a beautiful day we drove out to Bertra beach and some of us paddled in the water. We were staying in the Old Mill Hostel so we left all our luggage in the rooms before we went to dinner. After dinner we celebrated Amy’s birthday.

Next morning after breakfast we climbed some of Croagh Patrick and returned for a picnic to the beech. At 12:30 we had a cruise around Clew Bay. We all enjoyed looking out onto the water and we could see Croagh Patrick from the boat too. Before we set off for home we had something to eat in McDonalds. Each and everyone of us had a super time.
